In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the reports were inaccurate and called for greater care in how such claims are published.
“The United Arab Emirates has categorically denied reports published by certain international media outlets alleging the transfer of funds from the UAE to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including allegations concerning USD 3 billion,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry described the allegations as baseless. It said no Iranian funds had been moved through the country in any form.
“These allegations are entirely false and unfounded,” the statement said, stressing that “no frozen Iranian funds have been released, transferred, or facilitated through the UAE.”
The Ministry also addressed how the reports had been handled by the outlets that carried them, urging closer attention to sourcing.
“The Ministry called on media outlets to exercise accuracy, rely on official sources, and refrain from publishing or circulating unverified information and unfounded allegations,” the statement said.
