UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in the Egyptian city of El Alamein on Sunday on a fraternal visit, where he held talks with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields in support of the two countries' mutual interests, according to the statement.

Regional developments discussed

Sheikh Mohamed and El-Sisi also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, with particular focus on developments in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to address them.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continued consultation across various issues, citing the shared challenges facing the region and the need for closer cooperation to safeguard its security and stability.

The visit comes after the UAE, along with Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, was targeted by Iranian missiles and drones as the conflict between Tehran and the US resumed.

Sheikh Mohamed was received on arrival at El Alamein by El-Sisi

He was accompanied by a delegation that included Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Zayed for Good Foundation, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, and a number of ministers and officials.
