Egypt on Tuesday condemned the attack on two UAE oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz as a violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime security and freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways.

Cairo, July 14 – Egypt on Tuesday condemned the attack on two
UAE oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz as a violation of
international law and a direct threat to maritime security and
freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways.

In a statement, the Egyptian government reaffirmed its rejection of
all attacks targeting civilian vessels and facilities or jeopardising
maritime security and global energy supplies.

Egypt called for respecting international law and avoiding actions
that could further escalate tensions and expand the scope of conflict
in the region.
